Hi! I’m Lisa, your new photographer.
I found photography after I had my 3rd child. I had been searching for a creative outlet because after 15 years of dancing I found I needed a different way to communicate visually. I loved documenting my children and showing all the different sides of their personalities.
My daughter said something to me one day while we were looking at photographs together, and it changed how I viewed my photography. She said “where are you Mommy? You’re not in any of these pictures” WOW! It hit me like a ton of bricks! I explained to her that I was behind the camera taking the photo and she said “oh, ok. You should be in some with us”. It was in that moment that I realized how important it was for her to not only see photographs of herself, but see herself with me, our connection and relationship.
At that point I had become very comfortable being behind the camera. I was expressing myself but hiding all at the same time and she noticed! I was uncomfortable in my body after having 3 babies and having a autoimmune disease that made weight loss a struggle. But that didn’t matter to her, nor did she see that…. yet! Our kids don’t care how imperfect we think we look! They just want to see us with them.
So that why we need to out fro behind the camera, and get in the photo! NOW! We can’t go back and have the photo taken, the moment is right now. Show your beautiful imperfectly perfect self, your family needs you in the photo with them!
Business, Branding & Headshot Photography
Its not about having pretty pictures for social media. It is about strategy for your business. Headshots are like saying hello to your audience, but you need a full set of brand photos to continue the conversation with them. There’s a lot of planning that’s done before the shoot to ensure we are getting the images you need and that line up with your brand. For example, we will talk about identifying the visual gaps, where are yours and how we solve that.
Having a bank of branded images ready at your finger tips means you don’t waste time looking for stock images that might go with your brand or having too many repeated images through out marketing. This is not all about social media either. While 95% of everyone’s ideal clientele is on social media, there are so many different areas you can use these photos. For example:
website
brochures
billboards
email signature
blog posts
business cards
magazine ads
research and educational articles
thank you and referral cards
posters, banners, promotional signage
email & print newsletters
infographics & mailers
